Planes Customs and Psycho Taxi

Let's just say adventure it will be. My day starts with a LaGuardia flight delay of 3 hours - gonna miss my connection - so harriedly run to the first class depot (im flying coach lol theres a missing parenthesis key on this computer - go figure.

Where was I, so I force myself on a 12oo flight but its currently - damn just bit by my first mosquito - it was 12o5 - so I jam through security and fly to the gate - but they say I cant board because there are no seats - sweating ensues.

Long story short, I fight and fight and get on. But now they arent sure my bag will make it. GREAT!!!

Just got bit again - better not be the yellow fever one.

Land in Atlanta - eat Arbys - take malaria drugs - buy bottled water after reading an article on the plane that tap water is better.

My Manaus (amazon( flight takes off on time and one hour into the flight there is a man in 2o E crying between two missionaries. He's watching the film Defiance - oh did I mention it was me who was bawling. What a film. Liev Scheiber was phenomenal (was he up for the oscar?(

I arrive at customs and every single TSA dude is wearing a mask. THEY ARE SCARED OF OUR SWINE FLU - how odd - as I am asking everyone on line about YELLOW FEVER - I notice my bag exit the conveyor belt. I watch it like a hawk. I mean, everyone put the fear of stealing into me. Customs is like ordering at Mcdonalds - I'll take a visa, passport, my bag and some fries with that.

I waltz out the exit doors and some random brazilian guy - tall - I thought everyone was supposed to be short? He was holding a sign with my name on it. Must be the TAXI guy to the Hostel.

He spoke o english and boy did I stick out like a tourist. BY THE WAY packed way too much!

This taxi driver makes NYC yellow cabs look like Floridian retirees! He was HAULING! and there must be no rules here, because he blew every red light without so much as a tap on the brake.

I'm writing to you from Hostel Manaus - IT IS SO HOT!!! They gave me linens and took a deposit for them - they also showed me to a heat box and I'm on a top bunk. I met this random guy from calgary and he seems nice.

I wanted to get this out so everyone knows Im ok. Oh everyone here is watching Borat and I haven't had any dinner and can't drink the water.

EAT TO LIVE has nothing on my next 2 months...

  2. Try not to talk to too many people while you are there. I don't want them to think that all Americans are that way. You know what I mean (obnoxious, smelly, and hairy)))))))))))))))) I just wanted to use my parentheses. Have a great time. I expect nice long entries every day.
